In 2016 Amber Heard made a statement in public that she is a victim of domestic abuse by her husband Johnny Depp. In 2019 she wrote an Op-ed in the Washington Post again highlighting the domestic abuse. Then Johnny Depp filed a defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard for the recovery of 50 Million USD, and Amber Heard filed a counter lawsuit worth 100 Million USD.
