Krishnavataram Part 1 Day 6 Sees 37% Box Office Spike, Yet ₹40 Crore from Break-Even
Krishnavataram Part 1, the recent devotional epic, has surprised many by bucking the typical weekday trend at the ticket counters. As it completes its first week, the film is showing steady traction, but recovering its hefty budget remains a tall order.
Steady Growth on Day 6
On Tuesday (Day 6), the Lord Krishna saga minted ₹1.85 crore, marking a healthy 37% jump over Monday’s ₹1.35 crore. What’s more encouraging is the occupancy rate: theatres registered nearly 31.9% seats filled on Day 6 versus 15.6% a day earlier, across almost 2,000 daily shows.
Day-Wise Collections (India Net)
Day 1: ₹0.42 crore
Day 2: ₹1.15 crore
Day 3: ₹2.25 crore
Day 4: ₹3.50 crore
Day 5: ₹1.35 crore
Day 6: ₹1.85 crore
Total (Six Days): ₹10.57 crore
Budget vs. Box Office Reality
Despite crossing the ₹10 crore milestone in under a week, Krishnavataram Part 1 is still far from comfortable. With a production cost estimated between ₹50–80 crore, even the most conservative figure means the film needs roughly another ₹40 crore in net collections to break even. Given the steady weekday momentum, hitting that mark will require sustained footfalls in the coming weeks.
Can the Krishna Magic Work?
Word of mouth for devotional spectacles often builds gradually, and Krishnavataram’s audience has responded well so far. If the film holds on through weekend re-runs, festival holidays, and rural markets, there’s still hope for a respectable run. However, the gap to recovery remains significant, making a clear ‘hit’ tag elusive at the moment.
